Dr. Alan Livingstone

As we continue to shine the spotlight on cancer research, today we honor Dr. Alan Livingstone, Professor and Chairman Emeritus of the Dept of Surgery, and former Chief of Surgical Oncology for 18 years.  He has dedicated his career to advancing the knowledge of cancer. As a surgeon, researcher, and teacher, his extraordinary vision and remarkable leadership has resulted in major contributions to the Miami School of Medicine and Sylvester. Under his leadership the UM/Sylvester surgical oncology team has created a pathway of treatment for esophageal cancer that has been adopted by surgical oncologists across the country. Dr. Livingstone firmly believes that, at Sylvester, tomorrow’s cure is already in the hands and minds of our gifted physicians and scientists.
